BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Dozens of local organizations will ask you to give, at a time when finances are tight, during the 2020 Give Big Kern fundraising event.

Jason Geis, an Army veteran and executive director of the 'Portrait of a Warrior' gallery represents one of the groups hoping to benefit from your generosity. He knows how people are struggling right now due to the Coronavirus pandemic, but he also knows how Kern County historically rises to help those in need.

The gallery brought in $40,000 in 2019, but Jason has set a more modest goal of $27,000 this year. Symbolic for the 27 veterans represented and the Gold Star families the gallery honors.

Give Big Kern is set for Tuesday, May 5th.
