A local dentist is looking to bring smiles to the faces of America by riding a bike across the U.S.
Dr. Donald Montano is a local orthodontist and he will be jumping on a bike for a 3,400-mile trek this year. He said if he makes 100 miles a day, the ride will last around five to six weeks.
The ride is Dr. Montano's way of giving back and bringing smiles to the faces of children everywhere. He's using this experience to help raise money for Smile for a Lifetime, a non-profit looking to help children and young adults who cannot afford orthodontic care.
Dr. Montano hopes to raise up to $50,000. He leaves on Sept. 12 from Santa Monica.
