BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) — During Wednesday's Bakersfield City Council meeting council members will receive a handful of audit reports including one for Mechanics Bank Arena.
The report breaks down revenues and expenses from the fiscal year from mid-2019 to mid-2020 just months after the pandemic hit.
The report shows an operating loss of more than $780,000 compared to the year before. The report does show some of the biggest moneymakers during that time before the pandemic led to the cancellation of events.
Disney on Ice and the CIF state wrestling championship were the highest-grossing events bringing in $153,000 each. Blake Shelton also brought in more than $100,000 racking up $118,000.
