BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — This week on Simply Sweet, we take you to a few restaurants around Bakersfield that have dog-friendly patios.
Our first spot is to Eureka!, where we make a deep-fried mac & cheese ball. It is creamy, crunchy with a hint of spice from a secret ingredient. The next dish is a 28-day aged mushroom Swiss burger. The patty is juicy, with a bit of sweetness and pairs perfectly with salty french fries on the side. We also make an award-winning margarita. Eureka! was in The Kern Margarita Championship and won first place for their Three-Day Weekend margarita! You are not going to watch to miss this one!
Next, we drive-thru a new taco stand in downtown Bakersfield called Taco Bros. They have perfected the Mexican classics. We try their taco trio: steak, chicken and veggie. The veggie taco is made from cauliflower, it hold s ton of flavor and keeps a great texture. We got these served on their SQUARE taco shells! These are flour tortillas made into a rectangle, which is almost easier to eat from.
Last;y, we make homemade dog treats with Julie Johnson, the executive director of The Bakersfield Animal Care Center and the Bakersfield SPCA. These are healthy treats, and most of the ingredients you most likely have in your pantry!
