BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Sylvan Learning of Bakersfield announced it is implementing a summer learning plan to help students who might experience learning loss while school is out.

Sylvan said students typically lose 2 to 3 months of learning and new research indicates the negative effects of COVID-19 on student academic health are significantly worse. To help combat this, Sylvan is offering a free, online event to parents in our community.
Sylvan experts will share tips and resources on how to keep the love of learning shining bright this summer and avoid "COVID slide."

"Our hope is that the students of our community keep their minds active and learning this summer."

This free online event will take place on Monday, June 15 at 6:00 p.m. Registration is required, and space is limited. Parents can register by visiting Sylvan Learning of Bakersfield's Facebook page.
