California State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond held a special digital webinar Wednesday to update school leaders statewide on access to available technology support for students.
"A big part of our ability to connect students in successful ways in distance learning is having access to devices. We know there's been a rush and demand for computing devices, hot spots," explained Thurmond. "In many cases, there were no devices for weeks but we are grateful that we got two partners coming on today who've been able to source computing devices for us that are enabled with connectivity really grateful to Apple and T-Mobile."
Apple and T-Mobile will fulfill orders from districts that could reach up to one million students with discounted iPads.
Thurmond went on to say that with the help from California's governor and the legislature there is money for our school districts to make the purchases they need.
