BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — California State University Bakersfield is getting noticed nationally and was recently recognized for being a top 10 school for affordability in the west. The Washington Monthly released its college guide and rankings earlier this week listing CSUB as number six out of 203 for the college with the best bang for your buck on the West Coast.
The ranking looks at how well universities help non-wealthy students attain marketable degrees at affordable prices.
"We're happy also that we're able to really show off the great work that our faculty and staff are doing to support students who are largely first in their family to go to college and we've become their family and we see them to the success line," said Lynnette Zelezny, President of California State Bakersfield.
Zelezny says this sort of recognition shows just how much is invested into the students at CSUB and they hope more students will choose to apply.
