Assemblymember Vince Fong says school districts could start conservatively, expand as they get more data

Assemblyman Vince Fong was in the spotlight for Wednesday's "Sit-n-Sip" virtual meeting put on by the Taft Chamber of Commerce.

A popular topic recently has involved the upcoming school year. Fong said he believes there needs to be more consultation between state and local leaders when it comes to getting kids back in the classroom this fall.

Fong says districts could start conservatively and expand as they get more data. The problem he said is funding. As schools would face increased costs when it comes to maintaining distance on campus and sanitizing the area for the safety of teachers and students
