BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The second annual 23ABC Bakersfield Baby Shower kicked-off this morning, with volunteers from the Bakersfield Pregnancy Center and the Mission at Kern County sharing how this event will go to benefit them and their cause.

According to The Mission, on a single night, there are 115 homeless children in Kern County. The non-profit works to give everything they can to those in need.

The Bakersfield Pregnancy Center helps more than 3,500 people each year during pregnancy. The BPC offers advice, help with medical services and supplies for expecting and new mothers.

Until 7 p.m. Thursday, you can stop by the 23ABC studios at 321 21st Street to donate items. Here’s a list of desired donation items to help local mothers.
