BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — This morning Mayor Karen Goh and Councilman Andrae Gonzales joined us for our second Annual 23ABC Bakersfield Baby Shower!

Gonzalez helped kick-off our baby shower by bringing a brand new car seat to donate and Mayor Goh brought a set of diapers to donate.

"Just piles and piles of all kinds of supplies, diapers, car chairs, whatever babies need, and let's do that again," said Mayor Goh. :We want to do that this year also for Bakersfield."

These donations are going to benefit the Mission at Kern County and the Bakersfield Pregnancy Center.

Items we're looking to donate include:

  • Diapers: Sizes Newborn – 5
  • Wipes
  • Clothes: Premie – 12 months; very gently used OK
  • Strollers
  • New Car Seats
  • New Bottles
  • Pacifiers

"People are in real need. These are needs we may not all think about all the time, but especially when you have parents who are so loving and caring and hopeful for their own child, and they're trying to do that," said Gonzalez.

From the inaugural baby shower last year, both the Mission at Kern County and the Bakersfield Baby Shower received an abundance of items for babies to last them six whole months.

You can find a full list of donations here.

Stop by our studios until 7 p.m. to donate at 321 21st Street.
