The 2nd Annual Bakersfield Baby Shower took place Thursday and all day 23ABC accepted donations that support local families in need.
Throughout the day the community dropped off diapers, toys, baby formula, rocking chairs, car seats, pacifiers. Everything donated goes to help out organizations like The Mission at Kern County and the Bakersfield Pregnancy Center. The donations will also be going to the Dream Center Organization along with the Alliance Against Family Violence.
"Because of COVID we need to keep separate but somehow still come together, and so a lot of people are really needing these supplies and so I know it takes a little extra effort to come out but it really does make a difference," said Jaime Doniaz with the Valley Strong Credit Union.
If you still want to donate, you can contact The Mission at Kern County or the Bakersfield Pregnancy Center and drop-off donations at their locations.
23ABC wants to thank the community for coming out and supporting our local organizations as well as families in need. And we especially want to thank J&M's Party Supplies for the balloons, as well as our sponsors Hall Ambulance and Little Caesars Pizza who donated food for our volunteers.
Also thanks to these individuals and organizations that donated:
