BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Veterans Center in Bakersfield is doing its part by doing what they can to help their fellow vets.

During the earthquakes veterans like anyone else need help. And it's not just tangible items like food, water, and shelter but mental health services as well.

For one local veteran, he says it's all about being there for his brothers and sisters who find themselves in the middle of this disaster.

It's for my fellow veterans. There are a lot of these guys out here in the desert that don't have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of. And I've been there. This is for them. All the ones that came home."

The veterans provided emergency supplies to veterans, including bottled water.
