BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A local man with a serious love of sweets has been hosting Cake Nite classes here in Bakersfield and next month he will be spreading some human kindness by holding a free class for our service members.

The creator of the event, Justin Salinas posted the patriotic cake that will be on the menu for the evening. It's red, white and blue with some rock candy decor.

Cake Nite is usually a step-by-step DIY class where you can eat your final project.

Justin has hosted dozens of classes with custom cake designs. But this time around he's teaming up with the local Wounded Warrior Project to bring the free class to service members and their families.

The class is scheduled for Monday August 12 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 1933 in Northwest Bakersfield.

If you're a member of the Wounded Warrior Project or an affiliate, you can contact the organization to sign up.
