BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A family of four is displaced after a house fire in Central Bakersfield Saturday afternoon.
Bakersfield Fire battalion chief, Michael Walkey, said, the fire started along the fence of the property and spread into the home in the attic. When Kern County Fire Department and Bakersfield Fire Department firefighters arrived all four family members, who were inside the home, were able to make it outside of the home.
Battalion chief Walkey added, Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the just the property where it started. And no one was injured during the fire. The Red Cross will help the family while they are displace.
KCFD and BFD responded to the fire around noon Saturday. Battalion chief Walkey said arson investigators are investigating what caused the fire and if any foul play was involved in starting the blaze.
