BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — For the eighth straight year, the Valley Fever Institute at Kern Medical will be holding an annual walk to help raise awareness.
Valley Fever is a fungal infection that can cause severe fatigue along with fever, chest pain, and coughing among other symptoms. The fungus is commonly found in soil in specific regions, including right here in Kern County.
Organizers say the event will help increase awareness of Valley Fever in Kern County by having experts to answer questions about the services that are provided.
The walk is happening Saturday at the Kern County Museum from 7 a.m. until 9 a.m. There will be food and refreshments provided, as well as a raffle and plenty of activities for your kids.
