BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A local nonprofit organization working toward helping make sure every local child's Christmas is bright.
Toys for Tots held a collection event at Black Angus Steakhouse Friday night.
The event featured a car show and those who came out could also take a picture with Santa.
Members from the Bakersfield 501st Legion were also out at the event dressed as characters from the Star Wars movies.
"Children look to Toys for Tots, because they know and they believe and have confidence that they are going to receive a toy," said Jamesie gridiron, Assistant Coordinator for Toys for Tots. "This is why we are out here to fill that gap for so many needy children."
If you missed the collection drive, Toys for Tots will be holding another event at Salty's Barbecue on White Lane from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. on December 12.
