BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — If you are looking to do something with your children that's not only fun, but might get them ready for back-to-school, we've got great news for you! The Kern County Museum has opened an interactive play space at the Lori Brock Discovery Center with the all new STEAM Town.
For those not familiar with STEAM: it stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Math.
The new STEAM Town "is an interactive play space where children can use their imaginations" and explore jobs the STEAM fields.
According to the Kern County Museum, "STEAM Town has a fire station, police crime lab, AtlaOne Federal Credit Union, a Grimmway Farm, Dignity Health Hospital with a HALL Ambulance, Kyle Carter Homes Construction Site, a gas station, and Luigi’s Delicatessen and Restaurant!"
The grand opening of STEAM Town is August 3rd from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. There will be crafts, food vendors, a DJ, face painting, more.
