BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — United Way of Kern County is hosting its 6th Annual "A Chocolate Affair" fundraiser to benefit College Heights Elementary School's Boys With a Purpose, Gentlemen's Club and other early childhood education programs at United Way.
The event will take place Saturday at The Westchester Hall located at 2801 F Street from 6 to 9 p.m.
The event will consist of dinner, prizes, awards, recognitions, auction, chocolate, music and fun. One of the philanthropists being recognized at the event will be, Centric Health President and Premier sponsor, Ajay Anand and he explains “Children with behavioral issues can’t learn when the environment at home and school isn’t controlled."
The purpose of the Kids With A Purpose, The Gentleman’s Club is to teach young men how to dress and conduct themselves like gentlemen and find their purpose in life. They are also taught life and social skills which will help these young men build character, integrity and self-respect.
The primary objective of this project, which aligns with United Way’s mission, is to raise a child in such a way that our community and culture are strengthened.
