BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Sikh Riders of America will deliver thousands of masks to first responders and healthcare providers this week.

The nonprofit said that many things have changed due to the coronavirus, but "it has not changed who we are." That's why the group has made 5,000 face shield to be distributed to the Kern County Fire Department, the Kern County Sheriff's Office, and to local assisted-living facilities.

On Friday the group will deliver 1,000 shields to KCSO, KCFD, and to the Rosewood Retirement Community as well as other assisted-living facilities.

"If your Kern County agency is in need, we would like to help!" the group said. Anyone looking to assist can contact the Sikh Riders of America at sikhridersofamerica@yahoo.com or call (661) 873-5181.
