New Ronald McDonald House set to open in Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The grand opening of the new Ronald McDonald House at the Greater Bakersfield Memorial Hospital is slated to take place on Thursday, July 11th.

"This new haven for families is welcoming, state of the art and made to accommodate future growth for years to come," said Jim Darling, Capital Campaign Chair of the Bakersfield Ronald McDonald House.

All funding for the facility was paid for with private donations.

"This is truly the house that love built and I consider the BRMH owned by our generous community. Bakersfield Ronald McDonald House, now more than ever, 'keeping families close,'" added Darling.

The mission of the Ronald McDonald House is "to provide comfort, care and support to children and families in Southern California" and to prvovide a "community where children and their families embrace life and healing with a sense of hope, enthusiasm, courage and joy."
