BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — With temperatures reaching the 100's on Saturday, heading to a local theater and catching a movie sounds like a great weekend activity. Here are some popular titles you can see.
Toy Story 4 leads the box office this week, as it has the last two weeks. The fourth installment of the Pixar series follows Woody and the other toys with their new "kid" Bonnie. Woody makes it his goal to help a new toy, Forky, adjust to his new life. The film stars Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Annie Potts and Tony Hale.
Spider-man: Far From Home will make its weekend debut and has already done quite well since its July 2nd release date. The second film in the new Spider-man series has already topped $310 million worldwide. The movie picks up right where Avengers: Endgame left off. Its now Spider-mans job to now take on new challenges. The film stars Tom Holland, Samuel L. Jackson and Jake Gyllenhaal.
Absolutely loved SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME. I’m a huge Mysterio fan and Gyllenhaal nails him. Also the movie is very clever (and funny) how it handles the fallout post ENDGAME in explaining how this world works now.

The Secret Life of Pets 2 is a choice for the whole family. In the animated sequel, the main character, Max the terrier, must adjust to new life when his owner gets married and has a baby. During a family trip with plenty of unknown animals to Max, he befriends a farm dog. This film stars Patton Oswalt, Jenny Slate, Kevin Hart and Harrison Ford.
And of course, plenty of other films like Men In Black: International, Annabelle, Yesterday and Aladdin are still in the theaters.
