Mac and Cheese Festival returns with a twist

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — It's the cheesiest event of the year and it's returning with a twist!

The 7th Annual Mac & Cheese Festival returns to Bakersfield next month and this year they are featuring a new category: "The Golden Grilled Cheese!".

Chefs will now have the chance to compete for the title of most delicious grilled cheese in town on top of all the other cheesy competitions. The Mac & Cheese Festival will feature mac and cheese bites from over 30 of Bakersfield's most talented chefs and eateries as well as samples from a wide variety of beer, wine and spiked seltzers. Guests can enjoy music, a large gaming area, and a variety of photo booths as well.

It returns April 18 at the CSUB soccer fields off of Stockdale Highway. Tickets are already on sale and you'll want to get yours early.

Presale tickets are on sale for $50 from now until March 31 at midnight. After that, general admission tickets go up to $55 until April 17. Day-of tickets will cost $70.

Those interested in a VIP experience can do so for $100. This year there will be a limited number of VIP tickets for purchase. VIP area will include a catered meal, private beer and wine sampling area, and private restrooms.
