BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — On Oct. 3 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Kaiser Permanente will be distributing free flu shots to community members at Cain Memorial AME Church, 630 California Ave.

You do not need to be a Kaiser Permanente member to participate in this free drive-thru flu shot event.

“We chose to target the community around central/southeast Bakersfield because we know that the surrounding area is heavily populated by people of color who have historically lacked access to preventive medicine like flu vaccinations," said Trellis Green, BSN, Department Administrator for Kaiser Permanente.

Flu shots will be available for ages 6 months and up. No high dose vaccine will be given at this clinic. Flu shots are limited to the first 300 community members.
