Golden Empire Transit is getting ready to give back to the community through a special event. GET is holding a food distribution this Friday.
They will be handing out 350 bags of food on a first-come, first-serve basis. There will be bags of non-perishable food along with fresh produce and bread.
Organizers say there will also be a variety of resources available for the community.
The event is happening this Friday on the corner of 22nd and Eye streets in downtown Bakersfield from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m.
