Feast For The Beasts: A CALM tradition set for Nov. 27

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The California Living Museum is hosting its annual Feast for the Beasts on Nov. 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., visitors may donate animal food and supplies in exchange for regular admission to CALM.

The following is a list of preferred items:

• $25 gift card (admits 2 adults and 2 children) from Petsmart, Albertsons, Food Maxx, Lassens, Round Up Feed Supply, Office Max/Depot, Stinson’s Stationers, Home Depot, Lowe's
• 75 oz Dawn detergent (blue original)
• 100-150 oz. liquid laundry detergent (liquid with bleach; must be He)
• 50 laundry pods (must be He)
• 3 boxes Ziploc freezer bags (quart, gallon or two-gallon)
• 2 reams white copy paper • 2 reams colored copy paper— pastel colors
• 1 Sterilite 66 qt (or larger) latching clear storage bin

FOOD ITEMS:

• 3 .lbs pecans, walnuts, peanuts, or almonds (all without salt or flavoring; with or without shell)
• 2 large bags frozen blueberries, blackberries, or raspberries
• 2 large bags of frozen mixed vegetables (corn, carrot, green and lima bean blend)
• 5 .lbs raw, fresh yams or apples
• 3.5 .lb bag dry dog food–IAMS Mini Chunks
• 2 family size boxes Cheerios or Fruit Loops
• 2 .lbs raw meat: salmon, trout, skinless chicken breast, chuck steak or ground beef
