BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride features vintage motorcycles and sharply dressed gentlemen, and it's all to promote men's health screenings and mental health awareness.
Local riders will join motorcyclists from around the world for this annual ride on Sunday. More than 125,000 classic and vintage-styled riders will be decked out in their best attire to try and raise $7 million for prostate cancer and men's health initiatives.
“Although this is a worldwide effort to encourage men to pay attention to their health - both physical and mental - we love that the close-knit Bakersfield community of motorcycle riders is making it their own,” said David Hostetter, the chairman of the local Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride, said in a statement. “This is a great opportunity for groups of friends and families to get together for a fun ride, while reminding everyone about the importance of health screenings for the distinguished gentlemen in their lives.”
The local ride here starts in Bakersfield on Sunday morning at 10 a.m. Riders will leave from Cafe Smitten on 18th Street and end at Lengthwise Brewery on District Blvd around 1 p.m.
