DELANO, Calif. — The Delano Police Department is collecting backpacks for students going back to school.

Until Thursday, you can drop off a backpack at the donation box at the Starbucks on Glenwood Street. They open at 4:30 a.m. and close around 11 p.m.

All backpacks will be donated to students from the Delano Union School District elementary schools.

Officers will be hand delivering them on Friday.
