BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — This weekend there will be a free farmers' market at the Kern County Fairgrounds with fresh produce. The event is put on by the Community Action Partnership of Kern's Food Bank.

It's happening Saturday from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. There will be more than 20,000 pounds of leafy greens, carrots, watermelon, plums and more. No ID is required and there is no cost for the event.

Cap-K says it's not unusual for all of the food to be handed out before 10 a.m. so organizers suggest you get there early.
