BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — What better way to get in the holiday spirit than by giving back to those who need it the most with a toy drive benefiting children of all ages in and around Kern County.

The Bakersfield California Highway Patrol is going to be collecting for their CHiPS for Kids toy drive on Friday. It'll be held at the corner of Chester Avenue and 28th Street in downtown Bakersfield from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m.

They will be collecting items for children ages 0-16.

If you are interested in making a donation it doesn't have to be just toys, you can also donate other items like clothes, shoes, and blankets.

If you can't make it Friday, you can drop off items at all local Walgreens stores, Motor City in the Auto Mall, the CHP headquarters and even at the 23ABC News station until December 16th.
