The Boys and Girls Club of Kern County has launched a virtual and traditional back-2-school supply drive to ensure all club members have the necessary supplies when heading back to school.
According to the National Retail Federation families spent an average of $674 on needed back to school supplies and clothing, an amount many low-income families cannot afford. And due to COVID-19 concerns, the Boys and Girls Club has added the new "virtual" drive as a way to maintain safety guidelines.
Community members can drop off donations at three locations including the Armstrong Youth Center on Niles Street, Stockdale Club on Young Street, and the Lamont Club on Segrue Road.
BGC is in need of any and all supplies for the kids.
