Bike Bakersfield, Bike Arvin handing out free bike lights as part of Project Light Up the Night

With the sun setting early this time of year staff says it's important that bicycles are visible on the roadway. Staff members and volunteers will be installing lights and educating people on how to properly fit and adjust helmets.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bike Bakersfield and Bike Arvin will be handing out free bike lights as part of their annual Project Light Up the Night.

With the sun setting early this time of year staff says it's important that bicycles are visible on the roadway. Staff members and volunteers will be installing lights and educating people on how to properly fit and adjust helmets.

You must have your bike with you to receive the lights. The event is happening from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the David Nelson Pocket Park on Niles Street.
