How would you like to have a private concert by the Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra? Well, it could happen!
The Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra is providing the opportunity for musicians to come to your home or business and put on a concert... at least from a distance.
"This has been a difficult time and people are stressed. We want to spread the beauty of music to help our community heal.” shared Holly Arnold, executive director of the Bakersfield Symphony. “Not only does this project bring joy to our community, it is also a mechanism to support our musicians who love and miss playing music - many whose main income depended on live performances and teaching music lessons - so it’s a way to help our musicians heal as well."
This could be the perfect gift for Mother's Day, a birthday, graduation or any special event. According to the BSO, "one family has even signed up to welcome home a relative who has been quarantined it Italy for 60 days!"
“Many are signing up to surprise their friend or family member” noted Holly. “How wonderful to bring a quartet to your sidewalk to share with your neighbors, or how fun to send a tuba or trumpet player to surprise your friend with Happy Birthday!”
The mini-concerts start at $35 and can be customized for your event. You can register for a socially-distanced performance online.
