BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A book sale that benefits our feline and canine friends of Bakersfield may not happen. The SPCA says they are in need of a new location and they need the public's help.
For the last two decades, the Bakersfield SPCA has held one of its largest and predominantly volunteer-run annual book sale. The location was donated to the organization through the years to hold the month-long event and according to organizers this year they had to move and don't have a new location.
The SPCA says it takes a lot of prep and set-up so the need for a new retail location is dire. Anyone interested in donating a location call the SPCA at 323-8353 or you can visit their location on Gibson Street.
