BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A local police officer has made a new friend through their mutual love of Pokemon.
Bakersfield Police shared on Facebook how one officer, who while responding to a call, came face-to-face with an upset child. The officer noticed the child was wearing a Pokemon t-shirt, so he decided to ask that child who their favorite Pokemon was.
Dragonite was the child's answer.
The officer shared that his favorite Pokemon was Charmander.
After half-an-hour passed, the child was calm enough to tell the officer what had taken place.
Before the officer left, the child had one more thing to share.
The child ran back to a bedroom and returned with a Charmander Pokemon card. The child told the officer that it would keep him safe at work. The officer responded saying he would keep it with him in his vest.
