BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — You have the chance to join your local police department for an interactive day of training with officers by participating in the Bakersfield Police Principled Policing Class.
BPD says you can share your experiences to help our officers better understand and police in the community and learn more about the men and women serving in your neighborhoods.
"As a member of the Bakersfield community, you can join our officers in this thought-provoking interactive day of training," explained the BPD on their Facebook page. "Your experiences, perspective, and willingness to interact will make a difference in the relationship between your police officers and your community. In return, you will gain real-life experience from the men and women providing police services in your neighborhoods."
The event is free to the public and is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday. You can learn more about the event on the BPD Facebook page.
"We just need YOU to come with your thoughts and experiences, ready to share them with other community members and officers. Lunch is provided," said the BPD.
