All Kern County Library Branches temporarily close amid COVID-19 concerns

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Library, at the direction of the Kern County Administrative Office and Kern County Department of Public Health, in an effort to address the recommendations made by Governor Gavin Newso and the State of California for COVID-19, will be making significant changes to Library operations.

Kern County Library branches will be closed beginning March 17 through April 13. All scheduled meetings, events, programs, or gatherings are canceled until further notice.

Concerning due dates: All due dates for materials currently checked out from a Kern County Library location will be extended through the closure. Materials will be due back to the Kern County Library April 17.

Concerning library holds: All holds currently ready for pickup will be available when the library.

There are also various online options available to residents while the libraries are closed.
