Thousands Without Power in the Tehachapi Area

TEHACHAPI, Calif. — UPDATE: Southern California Edison is reporting a fourth outage near Tehachapi.

This latest outage is impacting more than 2,500 customers in the area of Mariposa Road and Valley Vista Drive.

These four unplanned outages are now impacting about 8,500 customers.

SoCal Edison is investigating the causes of these outages, and no estimated times for power restoration have been given.

Southern California Edison is investigating three separate outages in and around the Tehachapi area that have left almost 6,000 customers without power.

About 1,800 of the impacted customers are grouped near the intersection of Highway 58B and South Snyder Avenue in Tehachapi.

To the south, about 900 customers near Highline Road are without power for an unknown reason.

The other 3,100 customers are in an unincorporated area near Bear Valley Springs.

SoCal Edison is investigating the causes of these outages, and no estimated times for power restoration have been given.

It does not appear these outages are planned public safety power shutoffs.
