With the Blaze leaving town at the end of the season there's no happy end to a baseball story that's filled with 75 years of memories. The 2016 squad hoped to at least end it with a win.

Instead they were swept by the Visalia Rawhide in the second round of the California League playoffs losing Monday by a final of 6-3.

It started out well enough. Drew Jackson hit a solo shot in the first inning that just cleared the short wall in center field.

Starter Osmer Morales looked good too until giving up two solo home runs to right field gave Visalia a lead they wouldn't relinquish.

The Rawhide broke things open in the fifth scoring four more runs. Morales was a strike away from getting out of the jam without surrendering a run. Instead he give up 6 runs over 4.2 innings pitched and takes the loss.

The Blaze would scrape across two more runs but fall on the night ending the series, the season and professional baseball at Sam Lynn
