Officials said a pediatrician was arrested after leaving her kids unattended in a car.

Christie Chu, 34, was arrested Tuesday in Northwest Bakersfield after a person called Bakersfield Police to report children crying in a car, but she has since been released after posting bail.

Sergeant Gary Carruesco with BPD said a two-year-old boy and a 9-month-old girl were left in a white minivan anywhere from 1-4 hours in the parking lot of a medical building in Centennial Plaza.

Police believe she works in the medical field, possibly as a pediatrician.

She was arrested on two counts of felony child endangerment.

On Monday, officials said that a tow truck driver found a 6-month-old infant in the back seat of a vehicle that he was towing.

The children were not released to father as the home was found unfit for the kids. They are now in protective custody.
