The Kern County Sheriff's Office confirmed Tuesday that items were stolen from an unmarked KCSO vehicle.
The stolen items included four firearms and ammunition.
Officials said the items were stolen sometime during the late evening hours of October 16th into the early morning hours of October 17th.
KCSO said the car was parked on Avanti Drive near La Fortuna Way in northwest Bakersfield.
Tuesday morning when detectives arrived on scene they were able to recover several stolen items, including one of the stolen firearms, but three remain outstanding.
KCSO says there are three firearms still missing:
-Colt AR-15
-Mossberg 12 gauge shotgun

Those firearms include a Colt AR-15, Mossberg 12 gauge shotgun and a Golck 27 handgun.
KCSO is still trying to identify potential subject(s) involved in the theft and locating the stolen firearms.
Officials did not explain if the vehicle had a window broken or a door forced open or if the vehicle was left unlocked.
KCSO said detectives are also trying to determine how the theft of the items occurred, how the firearms were stored or secured at the time of the theft, and if any policies and, or laws were violated related to the storage of the firearms.
According to KCSO's department policy regarding firearms, it states "All department issued guns stored in department vehicles will be secured in a locked rack/safe/trunk."
KCSO said the deputy involved is still on active duty.
Officials were able to track down surveillance video that may be related to the incidient, but have not released it.
Officials are asking anyone with information about the investigation to call KCSO at 861-3110.
