Trial of two Lamont alleged murderers delayed due to question of death penalty

Posted

Two men charged with murder in the death of a father and son were due back in court on December 9, but the hearing was delayed over a question about the death penalty.

Investigators say Jim Langston and Darnell Hammond shot and killed the men at a Lamont gas station in October. Last week, a judge said there's enough evidence to hold a trial in the case.

Both men are eligible for the death penalty if convicted, but the District Attorney's office is still figuring out if it will seek death. As a result, today's hearing was delayed until later this month.

Police are still looking for a third suspect, Myron Givan, in connection to those murders.
