Dozens of members of the local Cub Scout Pack 25 were looking forward to a Veteran's Day camping trip before the trailer carrying most of their supplies was stolen early Friday morning.
The trailer, which had an estimated $10,000 worth of camping supplies, tables, chairs and food inside, was stolen from the front of pack leader Becky Fussy's home.
When Fussy told her two Cub Scout boys that the trailer was gone, they didn't believe her.
"They thought that I was playing a joke on them," Fussy said.
"They ran outside...and they're like 'Where'd you move it?'. And I'm like, 'I didn't move it'. The trailer is gone. Somebody took it. Their response is, 'Why did they do that?'"
The Bakersfield Police Department is currently investigating why it was stolen, but for now, Cub Scouts like Eddie Fussy are devastated that their trip is canceled.
"I was thinking, ah man, how was the trailer even stolen or who stole it," Eddie Fussy said.
Over 100 boys ages six to 11 years old are members of Pack 25. The group has set up a GoFundMe page to help raise money for a new trailer and supplies. You can find the page by clicking here.
