Thousands of people attended the third annual Macaroni and Cheese Festival at Cal State Bakersfield Saturday.
Dozens of vendors set up their booths to show off their best recipes. From sweet to spicy and pepper jack to cheddar there was a type of mac and cheese for everyone.
The Petroleum Club of Bakersfield featured a three cheese blend with smoked gouda, smoked bacon and jalapeno.
"It's not too spicy, but it's got a little bit of a kick," said Terra Gaines with the Petroleum Club of Bakersfield.
At Lucille's Smokehouse Bar B Que's booth they featured a bacon and cheddar, sausage mac and cheese.
"We also put a bit of our BBQ spice on it. Delicious!" said Victoria Schivas with Lucille's Smokehouse Bar B Que.
Visitors were allowed to try as many types of mac and cheese as they wanted. Beer and wine was also included.
Everyone who attended was encouraged to vote for their favorite mac and cheese.
The winner was Countryside Grill with their Chili Verde macaroni and cheese.
The owner of Countryside Grill told 23ABC they made their own chili verde recipe and the macaroni and cheese had Wisconsin cheddar and was topped with feta.
Second place was Cafe Med and third place was Prime Cut.
