Rod Crawford, who recently brought the property most recently called the Castaway Bar and Grill, confirmed to 23ABC this morning that he, and his wife purchased the property, and will relaunch it as the Silver Fox Starlite Lounge.
The owner of Guthrie's Alley Cat, Ken Reed isn't threatned by the competition and says he believes this will be a great boost for business in downtown Bakersfield.
"Any business that locates between Chester Avenue and Union Avenue I think has a pretty bright future," said Reed.
The dive bar located off 18th and R closed in 2010, and was later replaced by the Mill Creek Castaway Cafe.
Crawford, who also co-owns Pyreenes Cafe with his wife, does not have an estimated opening date.
