Suspect in Lamont gas station double murder, robbery arrested

The suspect wanted for murdering two people in relation to a robbery at the Quality Gas Station in Lamont Friday has been arrested.

Darnell James Hammond, 22, was arrested for two counts of first degree murder, robbery, burglary, and participating in a criminal street gang, according to KCSO.

The incident happened on October 14.

Detectives are still looking for two additional suspects, described as black males and a related vehicle, a 92-94 possible brown Nissan Sentra.

Hammond is being held without bail. He will appear in court Tuesday.
