Project Light Up The Night is Bike Bakersfield’s annual program to deliver sets of free bicycle lights in parts of our community where bicycles are used the most.
Every Wednesday night, except December 14, there will be bike lights handed out as long as supplies last.
With the sun setting early this time of year it is important that bicycles be visible on the roadway. Thanks to generous support from Pacific Gas & Electric and Chain | Cohn | Stiles, Bike Bakersfield will be at 4 locations in Bakersfield to hand out and install 500 free sets of lights over the next several weeks to anyone that shows up with a bike.
Being visible to motorists is a key part of staying safe while riding a bicycle on the road, and these bright LED lights will let the cars know you’re there.
Lights will be distributed at 4 locations:
- Bike Bakersfield (1708 Chester)
- Corner of Niles and Mount Vernon
- Corner of Chester and Roberts Lane
- Planz Park
