The annual One Book Project is back.
Local libraries want to bring the community together through literature.
The official kickoff event is happening today on the Bakersfield College campus from 10 am to 2 pm.
Representatives from the Kern County Library, CSUB's First Year Experience, Kern High School District, and BC will be there to introduce the book called "$2.00 a Day: Living On Almost Nothing In America."
This event is free and open to the public.
The One Book Project encourages the entire community to share experiences related to a single book through discussions, educational programming, and entertainment. It is meant to bring the community together through reading. This is the 16th year of the program.
