Community members from CSUB, the Water Association, and the Kern High School District met Wednesday morning to kick off the One Book, One Bakersfield, One Kern project for the fall months.
They chose the novel “The Big Thirst”, which discusses how water is used and ”wasted” and how the days where water was plentiful could be numbered.
Library officials say the book was chosen for a reason.
The Kern County libraries will also hold activities at its branches involving the novel from now until October.
