Nearly 3,000 PG&E customers without power in Central Bakersfield

UPDATE (8:17 a.m.): PG&E says just under 600 customers are without power following this morning's outage. Full restoration is expected at about noon. 

PG&E says a downed power line caused the outage.

UPDATE: Power has been restored to nearly 2,000 PG&E customers following this morning's outage.

According to PG&E, 914 customers are still without power. 

Power is expected to be fully restored by 8 a.m.

Nearly 3,000 Pacific Gas & Electric customers in Central Bakersfield are without power.

The outage comes just after rain, thunder and lightning hit the area. It's not known what caused the outage. 

The outage is stretching as far north as Truxtun and as far south as Townsley Avenue and as far east as T Street and as far west as Oleander Avenue. 

PG&E estimates power to be restored by 8 a.m.
