Friday, June 2nd is National Donut Day and Kern County is celebrating! But the day is actually in support of a good cause. The Salvation Army started this holiday to honor the "Lassies" who worked on the front lines during World War 1 and even made donuts for the soldiers. National Donut Day always falls on the first Friday of June.
